This is a call for subjects for a project I’m calling “We Are Stardust, We Are Golden.” I am looking for collaborators in Western Montana who, in the face of quarantine from COVID-19, are turning to their garden for solace and sustenance. Over the next few weeks, I will be photographing people in their gardens and will publish selections of this series in a book or zine in late summer or early fall 2020. I am interested in gardens large and small, and people of any gardening experience. This is both a portraiture and gardenscape project with the singular purpose of documenting and celebrating the people who experience the joys of digging, sowing, tending, weeding, harvesting and sharing the goodness of their gardens in these times of anxiety and stress.

As the illustrious Joni Mitchell sang, “We are stardust, we are golden and we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.”

If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact me.

Please note: In light of the Coronavirus, I adhere to a strict protocol of social distancing when undertaking a shoot. I wear a mask and when appropriate gloves, and I will not, under any circumstances enter residences, garages, or other enclosed living spaces to access locations.
