I had the pleasure to spend one single day in Seattle last week. It was a Sunday, rainy and a little cold, but a welcome break from Montana in February. The last time I was in that part of Seattle (Downtown/Seattle Center) the Chihuly Gardens were just being installed at the base of the Space Needle. This was my first chance to enter and see Dale Chihuly’s amazing glass work in this facility.

There’s something about these Chihuly creations which reminds me of Roger Dean‘s art. Dean’s work is best remembered by the album covers he did for Prog Rock bands like Yes, Gentle Giant and Badger. He also created the original logo for Virgin Records in 1973.
