My good friend Sheryl Noethe came to visit me the other day and sat for a few photos in the studio. I shot a few 8×10 on Ilford HP5+ as well as 4×5 on Delta 100 Pro. As always, I shot a few digital to test the lighting. I’m posting those here.

Sheryl Noethe is the founder of the Missoula Writing Collaborative, an organization that has put published, professional writers in the schools in Western Montana since 1994. One of my daughters worked with Sheryl at Rattlesnake Elementary when she was a 4th grader, and we became fast friends. (I joined the board of the Missoula Writing Collaborative soon after and have served as its board president for several years). In its 24 year history, The Missoula Writing Collaborative has reached over 30,000 young students in Western Montana.

Sheryl was the Poet Laureate of the State of Montana from 2011 to 2013 and is the author of several excellent books of poetry including, The Talking of Hands (New Rivers Press, 1998), The Ghost Openings (Grace Court Press, 2001),  As Is… (2009) and Grey Dog Big Sky (2014) as well as Poetry Everywhere: Teaching poetry Writing in School and in the Community (Teachers & Writers Collaborative2005).
