D-Day Memorial

Normandy American Cemetery and D-Day Memorial
Normandie, France
July 2018

Today is D-Day. On June 6, 1944, 156,000 Allied Troops – Canadians, British and Americans – landed along a 50 mile stretch of Normany and began Western ground offensive that would eventually lead into the heart of Nazi Germany. In 2018, while visiting the region with my family, we drove the entire Norman Coast, from Honfleur to Carentan.

You can more photos and read what I wrote about our visit to the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer which I posted shortly after our visit.
